Reservations are required for visits to BAMPFA by all groups over ten people. 

Film Screenings

Group sales are available for ten or more tickets to a single film screening. Advance arrangements required. Please call (510) 642-1412.

Art Exhibitions

We offer both guided exhibition tours (for certain exhibitions) and self-guided tours for groups of adults or college students, and guided tours for school groups. Please submit your reservation form at least two weeks prior to your visit. If you do not receive a confirmation email within three business days, please follow up with an email to sgvisits@berkeley.edu.

School and Youth Groups, K–12 

Guided tours for school and youth groups are available on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Please note that tours will not be scheduled on the first Thursday of each month, BAMPFA’s Free First Thursdays, to avoid overcrowding.

We do not allow more than thirty students in any one gallery at one time; if there are more than thirty students in your group, please arrange to divide them into groups of less than thirty, each accompanied by a tour guide.

Admission for K-12 students and accompanying teachers and chaperones is free; the admission fee for adults who are part of the group, but don’t perform chaperoning duties, is $5 per person. Guided tours are led by UC Berkeley graduate students; there is a tour fee of $60 per group (up to thirty students). We offer a limited number of need-based scholarships for school groups and nonprofit organizations; click here for the field trip scholarship application.

Adult Groups / Non-UC Berkeley University and College Groups 

Adult and college group visits may be scheduled Wednesdays through Sundays between the hours of 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. Please note that group visits and tours will not be scheduled on the first Thursday of each month, BAMPFA’s Free First Thursdays, to avoid overcrowding.

The reduced admission rate for group visits is $8 per person for adult groups and $5 per person for college groups. Special guided group tours of BAMPFA exhibitions, led by UC Berkeley graduate students, are available for an additional fee of $60 per group ( up to twenty-five people).

University of California, Berkeley Groups

Group visits for UC Berkeley classes and affiliated groups may be scheduled Wednesdays through Sundays between the hours of 11 a.m. and 7 p.m.. Classes that meet when the BAMPFA galleries are closed may be accommodated, depending on staff availability.

Admission for UC Berkeley groups is free. Special guided tours of BAMPFA exhibitions, led by UC Berkeley graduate students, are available to UC Berkeley classes and groups at no charge.
