Country Womyn Revisited

Country Women was a magazine published in the 1970s by women living in communes in the Albion Nation of Mendocino County. Back-to-the-land women banded together to create a resource for living outside the mainstream. A new collective working out of artist Fritz Haeg’s Salmon Creek Farm project in Albion has been studying the old issues of the magazine and responding with an update for contemporary women still looking for community to create sustainable, fulfilling, autonomous lifestyles. At this release party for the new publication, printed in the BAMPFA Art Lab, members of the collective read their contributions to spark discussion.

Includes a live performance by Dawn Riding, as well as skill-sharing in techniques such as wool spinning, bee keeping, and leather working.
